Maxine Waters Denies Calling For Trump’s Assassination After Saying She Wants To ‘Take Trump Out’

Outspoken Trump critic Maxine Waters is in hot water herself for saying she wants to “take Trump out.” The comment was made during a speech at the Ali Forney Center gala in New York City this month. The amped up rhetoric has caused some to accuse Waters of calling for Trump’s assassination. Waters has pushed back on the assertion, saying in a recent interview that it is “absolutely ridiculous” to assume she wants Trump dead. Instead, Waters said she simply wants the president impeached, which she has called for multiple times.
According to the Washington Examiner:
“That’s absolutely ridiculous,” Waters told CNN when asked if she was threatening Trump physically. “Nobody believes that a 79-year-old grandmother, who is a congresswoman and who has been in Congress and politics for all of these years, talking about doing any harm.”
Waters insisted her comments, made at an Oct. 13 speaking engagement at the Ali Forney Center in New York City, were about her repeated calls for Trump’s impeachment.
“That’s absolutely ridiculous,” Waters told CNN when asked if she was threatening Trump physically. “Nobody believes that a 79-year-old grandmother, who is a congresswoman and who has been in Congress and politics for all of these years, talking about doing any harm.”
She attributed the backlash to her being “a women, an African-American women” taking this type of leadership.
How about next time, just don’t threaten the President.
