BIDEN CONTINUES TO DOMINATE MEDIA MENTIONS
Cable news networks mentioned former Vice President Joe Biden last week over three times as often as any other Democrat competing in the primary, according to FiveThirtyEight.
CNN, Fox News and MSNBC mentioned Biden 2,232 times from April 28-May 4. That number dipped significantly from the week before for him, where his name was said 3,393 times. The dip follows the trend of each candidate receiving the most attention when they initially join the race.
Comparatively, independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders saw his mentions drop from 1,099 two weeks ago to 602 last week. He was still the second-most said name on the cable news networks. Sanders had been named most frequent candidate mentioned in each of the three weeks prior to Biden’s entry and each week was mentioned over 250 more times than anyone else.
