Trump Says He Doesn’t ‘Buy’ Rep. Tlaib’s Tears Over Spat With Israel: ‘Live With It!’

President Donald Trump tweeted Tuesday that he did not “buy” Michigan Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s tears during her press conference denouncing Israel’s treatment of her request to enter the country.

“Sorry, I don’t buy Rep. Tlaib’s tears,” Trump said about the Monday afternoon press conference. “I have watched her violence, craziness and, most importantly, WORDS for far too long. Now tears?”

He continued, “She hates Israel and all Jewish people. She is an anti-Semite.”

Tlaib and fellow Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, held the presser to denounce Israel’s “oppression” against them by initially denying their planned visit. The two Democrats were denied because of their support for the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) Movement, as Israeli law says any person who supports boycotts can be denied entry into the country. (RELATED: Tlaib Breaks Down During Presser Decrying Israeli ‘Oppression’)

“All Americans should be deeply disturbed” by Israel’s decision, Tlaib said.

Israel later granted Tlaib permission to enter the country after she announced her intention to visit her elderly grandmother and promised to avoid boycotts while there. Tlaib declined the offer, insisting that her grandmother would not want her to visit under such conditions.
