Melania Restores the East Room!

FLOTUS tweeted last week to let us know of the ~latest~ White House restoration. Even better – it’s been open to the public and can be toured through November 23!

“The historic East Room floor has been restored! Visitors on the public tour can learn about our most recent project to preserve the People’s House on display in the East Room until Nov. 23. Thank you to the craftsmen, conservators & residence staff for making this a success!”

The East Room is only one of a few new restorations happening around the White House – such as the walls of the Red Room, furniture in the Blue Room, and draperies in the Green Room. And probably a few more Colored Rooms. 

The East Room is also called the “Public Audience Room” and maintains an 18th-century style. Plus it’s used by FLOTUS and the president for hosting parties and gatherings.
