No Criticism Necessary

“I’m not going to criticize anyone who’s bringing their energy and voice. That’s not my style. I think she’s elevated awareness and that’s a positive thing,” said Ivanka while speaking to reporters at the World Economic Forum (WEF) on Wednesday.

Who was she speaking about? Greta Thunberg, teenage environmental activist, who was also invited to speak at the forum this week in Davos, Switzerland.

In light of what the president has said regarding Thunberg, Ivanka’s opinion is rather different in comparison. President Trump told Thunberg to “chill” last year, addressing what he called her anger management issues.

Ivanka’s statement shows she’s not afraid to speak out on behalf of her own beliefs. We’re confident she’ll continue to do so as she speaks at prominent events like this one.

Let’s Get Down to Business

Ivanka’s gotten quite a bit of press lately for things rather unrelated to the whole purpose of her trip. No surprise… so here’s an update from us to you.

Ivanka had the chance to speak at a WEF press conference earlier today with billionaire CEO of Salesforce Marc Benioff. They were joined by a host of other speakers including Adrian Monck, Peter Hummelgaard, Ahmad Belhoul, and Saadia Zahidi.

“There is much we can learn from each other,” said the first daughter and senior advisor. “America is trying to harness the interest of business, and the shared goal of ensuring the next generation of American student and the current generation of worker has the skills they need to succeed in the jobs of today and tomorrow. That’s why we created our Pledge to America’s Workers.”

She goes on to enunciate the importance of integrating private and public sectors, and poses the question of how we can “think of education and learning as a lifelong pursuit” rather than just a portion of one’s life.

Ivanka goes on to answer her own question: the United States is developing a national workforce strategy for the first time ever, which will create a blueprint for specific education goals in reference to workforce achievement.

This will be Ivanka’s second day at WEF with her husband, Jared Kushner, and the president.
