Happy Anniversary to WGDP!
Today marks the one-year anniversary of the Women’s Global Development and Prosperity Initiative (WGDP), which gained momentum by the hard work of our dear Ivanka Trump.
A reported 12 million women have been impacted in some way by Ivanka’s program. Plus, the first annual report of the program has been shared by The White House for 2019-2020.
Ivanka spoke with the Department of State earlier today to celebrate this important milestone. She said:
“Anniveraries like this allow us the opportunity to highlight the incredible work that’s been done… and also set new goals to drive us into the future.”
Ivanka also announced the Department of State’s new role as lead coordinating agency, helping to direct policy and establishing a dedicated team under the leadership of Ambassador Kelley Currie.
The commemorative event was hosted at 9 a.m. in the Benjamin Franklin Room at the Department of State, and was live streamed on www.state.gov. If you missed, not to worry – you can watch it on Twitter through this link (1/2) and this link (2/2).
