A Trip to Washington // Another Trade Deal

A warm welcome to President Lenin Moreno Garcés and First Lady Rocio González de Moreno of the Republic of Ecuador!

Melania and President Trump invited the pair to Washington on Wednesday. The visit, according to a statement by the White House, was an opportunity to cultivate a new bilateral relationship between the United States and Ecuador.

More specifically, Trump and Moreno were expected to discuss the kindling of a trade deal together – an opportunity that wasn’t possible under the reign of leftist Rafael Correa. According to an article written by the U.S. News & World Report, Moreno has “welcomed U.S. cooperation on security, economic and cultural issues.” Moreno stated he also wanted to discuss topics including organized crime, corruption and drug trafficking.

While the two leaders kept busy, Melania took a stroll around the White House with First Lady Rocio. Pictured above, she’s seen wearing a python-print Salvatore Ferragamo pencil skirt worth $7,700. She paired the statement piece with a long green coat, suede stilettos and a fitted white shirt.
