Melania Accepts Honorary Award in Florida
And this year’s Women of Distinction award goes to… Melania Trump!
On Wednesday, Palm Beach Atlantic University presented the first lady with an honor given only to those “who cherish community and family and want to preserve these ideals for others.”
Melania’s compassion and kindness, shown through her #BeBest initiative, has done just that by illuminating the concerns of today’s youth. Her campaign was launched two years ago and has three pillars: opioid abuse, wellbeing and cyberbullying.
The former model and Slovenia-native traveled to West Palm Beach, Florida, to accept her award where she gave a speech to the crowd of over 500 people.
Melania’s honor is unique in that she’s the only first lady to receive a Women of Distinction award since the event’s founding in 1991. In a tweet posted Wednesday afternoon, Melania showed her appreciation, saying:
“Thank you @PBAUniversity for the 2020 Woman of Distinction award. It was wonderful to share the positive impact #BeBest has on communities across the country & inspiring to see a university so dedicated to teaching students the importance of giving back.”
