Look out, she’s gonna wear it!
Does the world really care what Melania wears? The answer seems to be a resounding “yes”.
The most recent coverage she received was during her trip to India with President Donald Trump. The first lady wore two high-dollar pieces by designer Carolina Herrara within just a day during her visit, according to Footwear News. The two dresses together cost $4,797.
According to a Fox News poll, 35% of Americans think the media coverage of Melania’s “looks and styles” is too negative, while 37% think it’s “fair” and only 9% think it’s “too positive”.
Fashion historian Sonya Abrego says there’s a reason for the constant stream of input we see online. “What’s changed is the media landscape,” she said. “The speed of communication and … the fact that everybody can throw their opinion into the ring now.”
If there’s one thing to be said about Melania’s ever-changing but always-chic style, it’s that she’s changing the landscape of fashion and opportunity for creative freedom for future first ladies.
