New Tennis Pavilion on the South Lawn

First Lady Melania Trump has posted an update on the brand new addition to the South Lawn of the White House. She took to Twitter on Thursday afternoon to tell her followers, saying:

“I am excited to share the progress of the Tennis Pavillion at [the] @WhiteHouse. Thank you to the talented team for their hard work and dedication.”

The pavilion, which was submitted to the National Capital Planning Commission last June, was formally announced to the public in October. Features include a copper roof and limestone.

In a statement about the privately-funded project, Melania said, “It is my hope that this private space will function as a place to gather and spend leisure time for First Families.”

The Tennis Pavillion will be located west of the current tennis and basketball courts. A deadline has not yet been shared.
