Just in time for St. Patrick’s Day, the Trump campaign announced its official launch of a new coalition called Irish Americans for Trump.
According to a campaign statement, the coalition was organized to “commemorate Irish American contributions to our economy, military and history.” Former Acting White House Chief of Staff, Mick Mulvaney, has effectively been named Special Envoy for Ireland.
Kimberly Guilfoyle, senior advisor to the president and National Chair of the Trump Victory Finance Committee 2020, shared the news in relation to her own family heritage. In a tweet, she said, “My father immigrated from Ireland to America in pursuit of the American Dream. A dream that has never been more accessible than it is today under @realDonaldTrump!”
Trump campaign National Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany also joined in the buzz, saying, “Irish Americans across the country understand the importance of keeping President Donald Trump in the White House.”
