Securing global freedoms for women during health crisis

Internet communication has now become a heavily utilized tool to connect countries and communities on a global scale. In an article shared by Ivanka Trump, however, women’s fundamental freedoms are not being protected in a time when they need it most.

According to Susan Yoshihara, opinion contributor for The Hill, human rights leaders should be using the current health crisis as an opportunity to demand restrictions be lifted on women’s information freedoms – specifically in areas like Beijing, which recently condemned two female activists for publishing their diaries in Wuhan.
