Musk rails against California’s ‘ignorant’ health officials, says he’s moving Tesla’s HQ to Texas

Chris White on May 9, 2020

Tesla CEO Elon Musk suggested Saturday that he is suing a California county after ‘unelected & ignorant” health officials spoiled his plans to reopen over coronavirus concerns.

Musk railed against local California officials on Twitter, telling his followers that he is preparing to relocate to Texas or Nevada after Alameda County Public Health Department interim health officer Erica Pan said Friday that Tesla does not have the okay to reopen.

“Tesla is filing a lawsuit against Alameda County immediately,” Musk wrote on Twitter before lacing into the county’s “unelected & ignorant” health care officials who he believes are “acting contrary to the Governor, the President, our Constitutional freedoms & just plain common sense!”

Alameda County, where Tesla’s headquarters are based, “is sill a bit stricter” on when businesses can open up, Pan told reporters during an online town hall meeting.

“We have not given the green light. We have been working with them looking at some of their safety plans. But no, we have not said that it is appropriate to move forward,” she said after being asked about Tesla in particular.

Musk was not impressed with Pan’s remarks.

“Frankly, this is the final straw,” he said in a following tweet. “Tesla will now move its HQ and future programs to Texas/Nevada immediately. If we even retain Fremont manufacturing activity at all, it will be dependent on how Tesla is treated in the future. Tesla is the last carmaker left in CA.”

This is not the first time the taciturn tech tycoon has lashed out at officials over the coronavirus pandemic. Musk lashed out at government officials in April for instituting economic lockdowns, calling them “fascist” during an April first quarter Tesla earnings call.

Stay at home orders were instituted throughout the country to slow the coronavirus pandemic, which has killed more than 75,000 people in the United States.

Musk said during the call that people should be allowed to quarantine themselves if they wish, but added: “to say that they cannot leave their house, and they will be arrested if they do, this is fascist. This is not democratic. This is not freedom. Give people back their goddamn freedom.”

Meanwhile, California’s economy is falling off a proverbial cliff.

Gov. Gavin Newsom’s stay-at-home orders in March forced non-essential businesses to close, prompting millions of Californians to file for unemployment. The Democrat’s administration is predicting that the state will hit 18% unemployment after registering a 3.9% unemployment rate at the start of 2020.

California is a beautiful place run by complete idiots. After 53 years, I left in 2003.

California used to be the greatest state in the union. And still could be. But the system there is so corrupt. I don’t know how you’re ever going to dislodge the crooks running the place.

Liberals and socialism have ruined yet another paradise.

Just make certain the wack job political left leave their progressive ideals in CA as they head for TX! Can’t afford to have the great state of Texas turn to the leftist leanings of the Socialist/Communist parties

I am not a fan of Elon Musk believing he is somewhat of a con man and that’s just my opinion. But I may be wrong and regarding the Communist Chinese Kung Flu, I’m on the same side as Musk. This whole thing has been a con job with the goal of destroying our economy with the goal of bringing down President Trump and I believe it’s Democrats purposely doing this. And to them, those who lost their jobs and businesses and other assets are acceptable collateral damage in their unholy quest. I also believe Fauci is conning us as he has been wrong in his predictions every step of the way. And I also believe his reason is financial. Follow the money, as they say. My reasoning is his dissing Hydroxychloroquine which is inexpensive, plentiful and proven to work in favor of new drugs being developed with clinical tests that don’t show nearly the success of Hydroxychloroquine. It stinks and I’ll bet Fauci is heavily invested in the drug companies developing the new “miracle cures” he’s touting. God, may the whole truth come out.

California will have to raise taxes to make up for the shortfall.
    To hell with the people!
The government must remain as big as before!

You Go, Elon! Hit ’em where it really hurts! Challenge their Sacred Oath of Office, as George Washington suggested in his Farewell Address in 1796, if your lawyers know how, and if your lawyers possess the Lawful Standing to issue such a challenge. If they do not, you’ve got the wrong lawyers! And that “ignorance” clearly explains why you are having your “problem,” as well as the cause of every other problem our nation, and the world, faces.

I would like to know who gave my rights to the governors of these United States to keep me indoors. This is an individual (adult) decision based on my Civil Rights. Neither President or any other polotician has any right. Constitution says up to me. Every year there are more deaths in general of other health problems than this corona virus. Every year 200,000 to 300,000 people die of other causes, no matter what they are. Other plagues or worse conditions have been in this country and we have never shut down. We, the people should never be afraid. As it is with life as it is with death. No matter what we will exists until God says otherwise. FAITH
