Another Dem Gov. breaks COVID restrictions

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is the latest Democrat to be busted for violating the quarantine provisions that they have so proudly instituted.

Whitmer’s husband was outed by a marina owner in Traverse City, MI. According to the owner, the governor’s husband called the marina to try to have the family boat put in the water prior to Memorial Day weekend.

Although the state eased some lockdown restrictions before the holiday, Whitmer warned Michiganders about unnecessary travel saying, “If you don’t live in these regions … think long and hard before you take a trip into them.”

Specifically, Whitmer warned people about travel to the resort and water town of Traverse City:

“A small spike could put the hospital system in dire straits pretty quickly,” said Whitmer. “That’s precisely why we’re asking everyone to continue doing their part. Don’t descend on Traverse City from all regions of the state.”

Traverse City is about 185 miles from Whitmer’s home in Lansing, MI, the state capital.

Whitmer’s Twitter page features retweets of pleas by the state to “Stay Home. Stay Safe. Save Lives.”

Reaction on Twitter hasn’t been as sanguine.

Whitmer isn’t the first governor to get called out for violations of quarantine.

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker faced questions last week because his family was in Florida during the lockdown, returned to Illinois, and promptly decamped to their Wisconsin farm. Pritzker said he didn’t want to talk about his family out of fears for their “safety.”

“I just will say we have a working farm. They’re there now. There are animals on that farm, that it’s an essential function to take care of animals at a farm, so that’s what they’re doing,” he told the Chicago Tribune.

He also has construction workers traveling from Illinois to Wisconsin to work on the farm – apparently violating his own stay-at-home order– to build 7,000 square foot, $2.5 million home.

“First of all, they’re operating an essential function. Construction is an essential function. And second of all, they’re union employees that are going to do the work that they do. And I’ve never said people can’t cross the border to another state,” Pritzker said last week.

Brit Hume’s not buying it.

The Wisconsin “farm” is an equestrian property that raises horses for competition. Last year Pritzker bought a $12 million equestrian estate in Palm Beach County, FL.

Pritzker has a net worth estimated at $3.4 billion.

Previously, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo had to take heat after his brother, Chris Cuomo of CNN, violated quarantine when he tested positive for COVID-19.

“Today I am increasing the maximum fine for violations of state-mandated social distancing rules from $500 to $1000,” Tweeted Gov. Cuomo on April 6. “This is an enemy we have underestimated since day one. This is not the time to be lax. We need to #StayHome and stay properly distanced.

Moral of the story? Stay home … unless you are a rich, politically-connected Democrat.

So, he has and Equestrian Farm in FL and one in WI. His family decamps to FL, then back to IL then on again to WI. He said that they are taking care of the animals on a working farm. Who has been taking care of said animals while his family was in FL and who is taking care of the FL animals while the family is in WI…..HIRED HELP, the same one who are most likely still taking care of the WI animals instead of his family. I HATE these politicians who think rules are for everyone else but them!

Well I guess the Democrats can enforce laws on the people but it’s ok if they want to break them. Another reason to vote red.

Please democrats of these states, stop allowing your politicos’ special privileges!! VOTE THESE CORRUPT POLITICIANS OUT!!! These NARCISSIST POLITICIANS, like Pritzker and Whitless, treat us like NO ONE MATTERS BUT THEM!!! THESE HYPOCRITES are evilly NARCISSISTIC in their belief that they are special, essential and they honestly believe & ACT as if WE ARE NOT. Tell us Whitless from Michigan, just how essential is it to get your boat in the water at the marina for Memorial Day? Just askin’? These officeholders are still getting paid hundreds of thousands of dollars, still going on with highly privileged & luxurious lives. WE ARE NOT!!

Did Michigan’s Governor get a Fine? Deserves one for sure.
The lock down as I see it is Political Now. She also, it has been rumored that she and her husband stayed on Mac Island at the Governor Mansion during Easter. Now that cost un employees Michiganders money. Plus the place needed to be scrubbed down for the virus they may have carried there while breaking the stay home order.. what’s Up?

Different strokes for different folks , whats the fine for someone trying to circumvent the rules even if your wife is Governor.

  10. joe May 26, 2020

Guess who makes the rules so they do not apply to family just taxpayers who pay her salary. If no work no pay taxes.

Due to the fact that many deaths for reasons other than the corona virus have been changed and reported as ‘covid19’ deaths, it is obvious that this flu virus reported deaths is being inflated to be used as a means to control people world wide.

She said it was a joke made by her husband. Some joke. The home is I suspect she was voted in because the Weed law was in the ballot.

Nothing new here, the ruling class on every level will always abuse their positions of authority. It happens at local, county, state and federal, wether elected or appointed or voluntary positions. What’s most aggregious in these cases that come to light daily during OUR pandemic is the obliviousness of the leaders to the fact that we will sooner than later find out when crap is done, they then either make some less than half ass statement of apology/reason or they try and justify it! I realize we all do this on some level, being human and all but just once I wish one of these leaders would just flat out say that they think they’re privilidged, deserving of more, will lie, take taxpayer money for trips, obey special interests, you know, just some of the normal crap that most do up in that rarified air that we all lifted them to. But as usual we really don’t want to hear the truth, whatever that is. Politics suck but at least it’s entertaining which we all need to keep us occupied at home. With these governors, mayors, celebs etc again giving us all examples of how to conduct ourselves, it affirms for me that now is no different than any other time, it’ll always be the same old wine in a brand new bottle! Drink up! Cheers!
