Twitter censors White House account for quoting Trump’s flagged ‘THUGS’ tweet

Twitter censored the White House’s official Twitter account after it shared and quoted a President Donald Trump tweet Friday that the company’s moderators hit for “glorifying violence.”
The account shared a tweet Trump composed early Friday morning in which he called people rioting and looting in Minneapolis, Minnesota, “THUGS” and suggested that he will send in the military, adding that “when the looting starts, the shooting starts.” Twitter hid Trump’s tweet under a banner noting that the post violates company rules against glorifying violence.
“These THUGS are dishonoring the memory of George Floyd, and I won’t let that happen. Just spoke to Governor Tim Walz and told him that the Military is with him all the way. Any difficulty and we will assume control but, when the looting starts, the shooting starts. Thank you!” a tweet from the White House’s official account reads, quoting the president.
Twitter did not remove Trump’s tweet, arguing that it is in the “public’s interest for the Tweet to remain accessible.” The platform applied the same label to the White House’s post, limiting who can comment and like the post while allowing users to share the tweet widely.
Twitter placed a “fact check” label on a Trump tweet Tuesday in which he alleged that California’s mail-in ballot is “fraudulent.” The president signed an executive order Thursday calling for social media platforms to lose their protection from legal liability if they engage in censorship.

While I agree with the Freedom of Speech Right. FACEBOOK, and TWITTER do not abide by it. So both should be shut down for 60 days to set an example.

I”ve been suspended from Twitter for over two and a half years now when I criticized Maxine Waters anti-Trump suppoorters comments” when you see them a deparhtment sotah, or in a restooranht, or at a gasoleen stashun, you tell them you’ not wanted heyah!” Every time I try to appeal my suspension I get my “account won’t be restored because I violated their policy against hate speech.” Twitter is run by a bunch of filthy liberal bastards who ought to be shut down. Allow freedom of speech? Not for Trump supporters, evidently. I have been treated fine by facebook, no problems.
Twitter is way out of line trying to censor our president’s right if free speech, ie, The first ammendment to the Constitution of The United States of America.
Everyone has seen the knee on the neck and the man was handcuffed. Why they didn’t just put in the back seat and move to the police station. However, this whole thing was an excuse for the thugs to burn and steal. The burning and stealing had nothing to do with his murder. I personally thought we were getting past all this, but what happens when a police officer gets killed by white or black? Nothing, a matter of fact the blacks jump in joy. Looting was nothing more than an animal instinct to rob and burn.
What part of the truth you did not like
This may be how other countries resolve issues but not Americans. Let’s face a few bad elements were not protesting but using a bad situation to incite more violence. George’s family needs support while asking for justice. The burning of businesses is not the same as protesting. I saw the same response in LA during the early 90’s where to many innocent lives were interrupted. I guess cooler heads is not the emotion citizens support?
Totally accurate statement. I waited to see the money trail, as to whether this was going to be a legit protest or not. But “Shoot the White People” came as the “Crowdfund” accounts were revealed. So “THUGS” is accurate. They are financed perpetrators of harm/destruction. By definition, thugs. Ushered in by the Mayor and Governor (political class)… It is Antifa/BLM 2.0 … When the Truth is scoffed, Lies rule the narrative… Twitter loses this fight decisively.
I was banned fromTwitter for a comment 2 weeks ago on a Charlie Kirk post. I called Pelosi a deranged Sea Hag. It was sarcasm, but twitter called it hate speech even though it doesn’t meet the standards they stated. Maxine Waters has called POTUS much worse with impunity. I’m no one, but now as a conservative, I can’t even access the site.
