Clinton: I would have handled coronavirus pandemic better than Trump

Hillary Clinton has no doubt that she would have handled the coronavirus pandemic better than President Donald Trump. The 2016 presidential candidate also said that she would easily win if she was on the ballot this year.

“We wouldn’t have been able to stop the pandemic at our borders the way that Trump claimed in the beginning, but we sure could have done a better job saving lives, modeling better, more responsible behavior,” Clinton said.  “I don’t think we necessarily should have had as deep an economic assault on livelihoods and jobs as we have so I know I would have done a better job.”

Clinton says it is not in the cards for her to run for the presidency again, but she believes she would beat Trump in November if she was on the ballot. She took to Twitter on Independence Day to call on Americans to register to vote.

“In dark times, it’s important to remember that America can be what we make of it. We have more power than we can imagine when we wield it together. Let’s keep raising our voices, marching, and registering to vote. We’ll celebrate all we accomplish next Independence Day,” Clinton tweeted.

Clinton believes Trump will be defeated in November and that the election will be a referendum on his handling of coronavirus. She says that the president has failed to show leadership and refuses to acknowledge the seriousness of the virus. More than 2.7 million cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the United States and more than 128,000 Americans have died.

The former secretary of state also continues to promote the theory that she lost the election because of disinformation produced by the Russians and spread on social media platforms like Facebook. Clinton says there are still a lot of unanswered questions about what the Russians were doing probing registration bases and election systems.

“Facebook has to be held accountable because they trafficked in conspiracy, they trafficked in misinformation, they trafficked in Russian disinformation, and they’ve got to be held accountable because we’re going to have another election, and everybody should know what’s at stake and then cast their vote accordingly,” she said.

Clinton said the president lashes out because he never wants the legitimacy of his election to be questioned.

“Part of what he does in the way he lashes out is because, deep down, he knows the Russians helped him, despite his incredible efforts to deny it. He knows WikiLeaks helped him. He understands all of that,” Clinton said. “He’s a vindictive score-settler, and he doesn’t want the legitimacy of his election ever to be questioned, although history will continue to question it.”

Conservatives were quick to come back at Clinton’s critique of Trump.

“Hillary Clinton said she could do a better job managing the Chinese Coronavirus than Donald Trump. She couldn’t even manage her email inbox, are we really supposed to believe her this time?” tweeted conservative Charlie Kirk.

Clinton continues to act as a surrogate to Democrat nominee Joe Biden and says she will fight for more aggressive absentee voting in the November elections.
