Kimberly Guilfoyle tests positive for COVID-19

Former Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle has tested positive for the coronavirus. Guilfoyle is now a senior adviser to President Donald Trump’s reelection campaign and dating Donald Trump Jr.
“After testing positive, Kimberly was immediately isolated to limit any exposure. She’s doing well and will be retested to ensure the diagnosis is correct since she’s asymptomatic, but as a precaution will cancel all upcoming events,” a Trump Victory aide said. “Donald Trump Jr. has tested negative but as a precaution is also self-isolating and is canceling all public events.”
Guilfoyle and Trump Jr. were both tested in South Dakota where they had traveled to attend the president’s speech at Mount Rushmore on Friday. It is very common for people in close proximity to the president to undergo frequent testing, as does the president himself. Neither Guilfoyle nor Trump Jr. traveled with the president aboard Air Force One.
Guilfoyle was not experiencing any apparent symptoms of infection.
“Thank you for all the well wishes and prayers! I feel good thanks be to God and look forward to a speedy recovery so I can resume working to re-elect @realDonaldTrump,” she tweeted on July 4.
Trumps critics were quick to point out that his own inner circle wasn’t even practicing social distancing. Trump Jr. and Guilfoyle were recently spotted at a New York party.
.@NYPost 4 days ago: “A Hamptons insider was stunned to arrive at a house in Bridgehampton on Saturday night to find a packed party that looked ‘as if COVID had never happened’ — with Donald Trump Jr. and girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle among the revelers,” a politico reporter tweeted.
Friday evening, Ivanka Trump posted a message on Twitter asking that Americans be safe & responsible this holiday weekend.
“As we celebrate this 4th of July, follow state & local guidelines to keep you & your loved ones safe. Practice proper hygiene, social distancing & wear a mask when in close proximity to others.”
The president’s daughter has faced pushback for the tweet after very few people in attendance at the Mount Rushmore event were wearing masks.
