Trump on Harris: ‘Very weak on facts’

President Donald Trump wasn’t too impressed with his opponent’s choice in a running mate saying that Kamala Harris is very weak on facts and a terrible candidate.
“.@KamalaHarris started strong in the Democrat Primaries, and finished weak, ultimately fleeing the race with almost zero support. That’s the kind of opponent everyone dreams of,” the president tweeted this week.
He again went after Harris when asked by a reporter what he thought of her claims that the president hasn’t handled coronavirus well. Harris admitted that the economy was going well under Trump but that like everything else he inherited, he ran it straight into the ground.
“I think that’s probably one of the reasons she was a terrible candidate and was forced to leave the race because she got her facts wrong. You know, she’s very bad on facts, she’s very weak on facts,” Trump said. “And just so you understand, we’ve done more testing than any country in the world by far.”
The president insisted that America is doing better than many of its allies and that the high number of coronavirus cases and deaths is directly related to the number of tests the country is performing.
“As we move forward, the number of cases is not by any means the most important metric to focus on because the fact that is we have more cases because we have far more testing than any country in the world, there’s no country that’s even close. We’ve done more testing and better testing than any country,” Trump said.
Trump’s campaign was quick to launch an ad campaign labeling Harris as a phony and a handler of Joe Biden. The president himself called Harris nasty and reminded reporters how she’s treated people in the past including then-Supreme Court Nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
He also said he found it interesting that Biden could pick somebody who was so rude to him during the primary. Harris famously accused Biden of being a racist and got into several back and forths with the former vice president during the primary.
“She was very disrespectful to Joe Biden, and it’s hard to pick somebody that’s that disrespectful,” said Trump.
