Three cops shot in Maryland ambush. Police killings surge by 28 percent

Washington D.C.’s WTOP is reporting that three police officers were shot in nearby Prince George’s County in what police are calling a deliberate ambush.

“Police said officers arrived at the 1300 block of Capital View Terrace in Hyattsville just after 6:30 p.m. when two suspects allegedly shot at them,” says WTOP.

“Interim Police Chief Hector Velez said the officers were responding to a call about a home invasion.”

“Within seconds they came under gunfire. They were ambushed,” Chief Velez said during a news conference outside the hospital where the officers were being treated.

None of the officers suffered life threatening wounds despite shots to the chest and back by the suspects.

“One was struck in the chest, the vest saved him, the second was in the back, and the vest saved him. The officer that was struck in the chest also sustained an injury to his arm and leg and another officer sustained an injury to his foot,” said Chief Velez.

One of the officers underwent unspecified surgery.

Two suspects are currently in custody, but police are investigating whether other suspects could be involved in the ambush.

Outpouring in support of officers came from politicos around the state.

“All three of these officers are nothing short of heroes,” County Executive Angela Alsobrooks said according to WTOP. “We want to thank all of you for the support you give them and thank them for the job they do every single day.”

“We are all extending our prayers to the three officers shot tonight in Prince George’s County. @MDSP has offered its full support for the investigation,” tweeted Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan.

But one Twitter user showed no sympathy.

“They should have picked a safer job,” he tweeted.

The killing of police officers has surged 28 percent this year according to the FBI.

“An ABC News review found that in recent years, periods of civil unrest coincided with an increase in police killings. While the sample size is small and a multitude of factors come into play in each situation, some experts say that an anti-police sentiment helps embolden offenders.”

Seven out of 32 police killings, or 22 percent, have been by ambush this year says ABC.

“And the majority of killings happened in Southern and Western states (14 and 10 respectively), following a pattern from prior years. Seven occurred in the Midwest, and one in the Northeast,” reports the TV news station.

“They’re out there trying to keep peace and fight true justice in an American way,” says Tyrone Dodson, a retired Black police officer who served with the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, D.C. for 29 years, about cops. “They get killed like that because some vigilantes want to take the ball in their own hands and kill innocent police officers.”

Those liberals have naturally warped minds, so they just cannot help it when they print such as this. It’s part of that KKK mentality along with those Jim Crow notions……

Wait until his neighborhood has riots, and he needs to call 911. Hope that fool knows the number for Ghostbusters. Nobody else should make any attempt to help him. Maybe he can call BLM, and see if they would be willing to help him OUT!
