Hair dryer protests continue as Pelosi refuses to apologize for COVID scofflaw
Women continue to hang hairdryers and curling irons in the trees outside Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) ritzy home in San Francisco, angry after Pelosi violated public health orders to get her hair done and then tried to blame the salon owner, saying the hair appointment was a setup to embarrass the liberal Democrat.
“More than a dozen women showed up outside Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco home with curlers in their hair and hung blow dryers in the trees outside to show their outrage over the House Speaker’s visit to a salon as shops across the city and state were shut down because of the coronavirus pandemic,” says the New York Post.
Pelosi has been panned even by supporters after a video surfaced of her not wearing a mask or shoes as she got her hair done in a salon that is not allowed to be open under COVID orders. Pelosi has been vocal in supporting nationwide mask mandates to fight the coronavirus and the consequent shutdowns of small businesses, like salons.
“What she has done is slap the face of not just a salon owner but every woman every man every person who’s unemployed in the state of California who has lost their jobs and lost their livelihoods many of whom are my friends,” one protester said according to local KRON4.
President Trump went on Twitter over the weekend and stirred up more controversy when he dunked on Pelosi over the fracas.
“Nancy Pelosi said she got ‘set up’ by the owner (a very good one) of a beauty parlor,” Trump tweeted. “If so, how will she do in negotiations against President Xi of China, President Putin of Russia, or Kim Jong Un of North Korea. Not so well, I suspect, but far better than Joe Hiden’ would do!”
Until she apologizes, the trouble is not likely to die down. Pelosi is just one of many liberals who have broken the coronavirus rules that they have imposed on the rest of the country.
“But such is her sense of entitlement that she refuses to apologize, and on Wednesday she blamed the hard-pressed workers who serviced her tresses, claiming they told her the appointment she requested was kosher,” said Miranda Devine in the New York Post.
“After months of hectoring the president for not wearing a mask often enough and not listening to ‘The Science,’ the hypocrisy was inescapable,” added Devine.
But some of San Fran Nan’s allies are standing behind her, saying it takes really nice hair to fight off the right-wing.
“We have a terrorist, we have a dictator who is running this country and Nancy Pelosi is at the forefront fighting against this person everyday, you know, and I’m not trying to excuse what happened,” said San Francisco Mayor London Breed. “I’m just saying that to allow an issue like this to turn our city upside down when we got folks who are homeless, we’ve got people who can’t open their business, including these salons. I understand,” she said.
The homeless and the closed businesses in San Francisco are also apparently a set up by Trump and his allies and have nothing to do with London or Pelosi.
