Former aide says Biden’s deteriorating: ‘He’s a different guy’
A former White House stenographer who worked with Joe Biden from 2011-2017 says that the Democrat nominee for President of the United States has visibly declined from where he was four years ago.
“It is a complete difference from what he was in 2017,” Mike McCormick, who worked as a White House stenographer for 15 years, told the Washington Free Beacon in an interview about Biden.
“He’s lost a step and he doesn’t seem to have the same mental acuity as he did four years ago. He doesn’t have the energy, he doesn’t have the pace of his speaking,” McCormick said. “He’s a different guy.”
Rumors of Biden’s decline have swirled around the Delaware Democrat, who has served in office for 47 years, as a series of gaffes has highlighted both Biden’s propensity to put his foot in his mouth, but also his declining powers.
“The steadfast, willful refusal of Dem political & media elites to address what is increasingly visible to the naked eye — Biden’s serious cognitive decline — is frightening indeed, not only for what it portends for 2020 but what it says about the ease of snapping them into line,” said publisher-editor Glenn Greenwald, who is definitely no fan of Trump’s.
The Hill cites a recent Zogby poll that shows that 55 percent of likely voters think it’s “somewhat or very likely” that Biden has dementia, including 56 percent of Independents and 32 percent of Democrats.
“More worrisome for Biden, perhaps, is that about 60 percent of young voters between the ages of 18 and 29 thought it likely that Biden is suffering early-onset dementia, along with 61 percent of Hispanics,” writes Liz Peek at the Hill.
The Democrats haven’t helped themselves by often suggesting that Biden skip debating Trump.
“I don’t think that there should be any debates,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said just a few weeks ago. “I do not think the president of the United States has comported himself in a way that (resembles) anybody who has any association with truth, evidence, data and facts. I wouldn’t legitimize a conversation with him, nor a debate in terms of the presidency of the United States.”
Biden hasn’t helped either. He’s recently been slammed for reading the cues off of his teleprompter from his staff such as ‘END QUOTE’ and ‘TOPLINE MESSAGE,’ fueling doubts about his ability to understand what he’s doing or where he is at times.
Biden has claimed to have taken cognitive tests saying he’s fine, but won’t release the results.
“I’ve been tested. I’ve been tested constantly,” he told reporters without going into details.
McCormick also said that Vladimir Putin has no respect for Biden, as was evident at their meeting in 2011.
“He basically got body slammed by Putin, really. I mean, I don’t know how else to describe it,” McCormick told the Free Beacon. “To me it was like, here’s our great foreign policy expert and he just got punk’d. And Vladimir Putin just had no fear or respect for him.”
That sentiment also went for Obama and Hillary Clinton, both of whom Putin disdained as weak and destabilizing.
