Trump on Harris: ‘She’s a vicious candidate’
During a campaign stop in the battleground state of Wisconsin, President Donald Trump ripped into Democratic Vice-Presidential Nominee Kamala Harris, saying her serving as the next vice president would be no way for a woman to become the first female president.
“That’s no way for a woman to become the first president, that’s for sure,” Trump said. “And if a woman is going to become the first president of the United States, it can’t be her. That would rip our country apart. This is not what people want, as then she comes in through the backdoor. This would not be what people want, especially because it’s her.”
Trump was clearly painting a picture that Harris would likely succeed Joe Biden into the Oval Office. The president has often claimed that Biden is physically and mentally unfit for office. Earlier this week the former vice president mistakenly referred to his possible administration as “the Harris administration.”
The president also reminded the crowd of how vicious Harris was…pointing out her attacks on Biden during the presidential primaries. The two candidates often got into heated exchanges during debates, mainly on the issue of race.
“She’s the one who treated sleepy Joe the worst,” said Trump. “I said brilliantly he will never pick her. Because she was too terrible to him. But she picked him and hopefully that’s going to be history. It’s not going to matter.”
Trump and his campaign have also tried painting Biden as nothing more than a puppet of the far-left wing of the Democratic party. They say that Harris is pushing Biden into adopting extreme policy positions such as defunding the police and ignoring the looting and rioting happening in regards to anti-racist protests across the country.
On Thursday, Trump also brought to light that Harris and members of the Biden staff urged supporters to donate to a fund to bail out rioters.
“They wanted to get them out of jail as soon as possible,” Trump said. “Including one who attempted to murder a police officer, a man who was accused of sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl. This is what we are dealing with. Kamala is considered further left than Crazy Bernie.”
Harris is the first woman of color to be nominated for vice president by one of the major political parties. She is the third female vice presidential nominee in U.S. history.
