Hunter Biden and Chris Heinz got $3.4 million from Russia while dads were VP, Secretary of State under Obama
An 87-page report released by the Republican Senate says that Hunter Biden and Chris Heinz received a series of payments totaling $3.4 million from Russian oligarch Elena Baturina in 2014 while their parents served in the highest roles under then-President Barack Obama. At the time of the questionable payments, Hunter’s father, Joe Biden, was serving as Vice President and Chris Heinz’s stepfather, John Kerry, was serving as Secretary of State.
It’s unclear what the payments were for, but the series was marked “loan agreement” and mostly went into the account of an investment firm that Biden and Heinz formed.
The investigative report was completed by the Senate’s Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman Ron Johnson (R-WI) and Senate Finance Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA).
“Their investigative work found that in 2015, two Obama administration officials voiced concerns to White House officials about the possibility that the younger Biden serving on the board of Burisma could create the appearance of a conflict of interest, as his father, then-Vice President Joe Biden, oversaw Ukraine policy,” says the New York Post.
The two officials, one an embassy official in Kyiv, and another, a state department employee, tried to warn the Obama White House about the conflicts of interest, but their warnings were ignored.
“Despite the efforts of these individuals, their concerns appear to have fallen on deaf ears,” the report says according to the Post.
The Post says that the report also indicates possible criminal activity relating to financial transactions made by Hunter Biden with Ukrainian, Russian, Kazakh and Chinese citizens and entities while his father was Vice President.
“Moreover, this investigation has illustrated the extent to which officials within the Obama administration ignored the glaring warning signs when the vice president’s son joined the board of a company owned by a corrupt Ukrainian oligarch.”
The release of the Senate report caused Rep. Jim Jordan to send a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray asking if the FBI is investigating the transactions.
“We write to ask what investigative steps—if any—the Federal Bureau of Investigation has taken in response to the information in this report,” Jordan wrote in his letter to Wray according to Yahoo News.
“’The FBI suffered from a pattern of misconduct and politicization at the highest levels of the FBI during the Obama-Biden Administration,’ Jordan wrote in his letter, adding that the ‘new revelations’ in the Senate report ‘only add more concern about the FBI’s actions,’” added Yahoo.
Despite the “damning” revelation of the Biden-Heinz Russia transactions, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich says the mainstream media is again trying to hide the misdeeds of Democrats by refusing to cover the story.
“With new and damning allegations in the report about Hunter Biden’s ability to leverage his father’s position as vice president into riches for himself and his friends, the left-leaning propaganda media goes silent,” Gingrich said on Twitter.
