Don Lemon tries black-splaining to the wrong black man; Ice Cube challenges his ‘punk a**’ if he ‘has the balls’
Rapper Ice Cube has taken shots from the liberal cognoscente over his plans to cooperate with measures taken by the Trump administration to help Black America. But through that criticism, the rapper is showing a resilience that is not just tough but also smart.
Responding to allegations by CNN Black anchor Don Lemon that he doesn’t understand the issues of Black America, Cube said that rather than just being a punk and hurling criticisms, Lemon should have him on the Lemon show to debate.
Lemon made his comments while talking with CNN host Chris Cuomo after Cube appeared on Cuomo’s show to defend his stance of working with anyone in power, including Trump, to help Blacks.
“Thank you Chris @CuomoPrimeTime you’re a man of your word. @donlemon that was some punks ass shit you just did. If you have any balls. I need to be on your show Monday night at 10pm. I’ll be ready,” said Ice Cube via Twitter.
Lemon was condescending in his comments about Cube, saying the rapper really needed to be more careful about who he “aligned” himself with.
“I don’t want to disrespect him, he’s very accomplished, I’ve only met him a few times, nice guy,” said Lemon about Cube, before sticking the knife in.
“But one needs to know what one is talking about,” Lemon continued. “One needs to educate oneself on just what is, other than the basics about capital, which is important, about voting, which is important, and so on and so forth. So you have to be careful who you align yourself with. So you have to educate yourself about that.”
Lemon was responding to Ice Cube’s interview with Cuomo where the rapper told viewers that his only concern was helping Black people, and he didn’t care which party they came from.
“I’m not playing no more of these political games, we’re not part of a team … so I’m going to whoever’s in power and I’m going to speak to them about our problems, specifically,” Cube said according to CNN.
“This is the problem in America, Black people don’t own on capital,” Cube added. “We cannot survive in America another 100 years living like this.”
So, part of the Ice Cube strategy is to work with either party in an attempt to gain political capital, which is something that liberals in the Democrat Party absolutely don’t want Black Americans to have.
“If you want to know why professional Blacks are losing their minds, @icecube tweeted a video by Boyce Watkins that I think sums it up nicely. You should check it out,” tweeted Katrina Pierson, a Trump senior advisor.
In the video, Boyce Watkins, author, economist and political analyst says that the Democrats are “not there for the masses, but there for the ‘Massas,’” that is the masters in the Democrat Party.
President Trump has targeted reforms aimed to help the Black community, specifically, men.
