Kamala breaks into awkward laughter when asked if she’ll push her socialist ideas
Democrat Vice Presidential nominee Kamala Harris laughed nervously when asked over the weekend if she shared the socialist or progressive perspective as a “Trojan horse” for more moderate Joe Biden.
“Citing a 2019 ranking from the non-partisan organization GovTrack, [CBS News anchor Norah] O’Donnell told the vice-presidential hopeful that she is ‘considered the most liberal United States senator.’ She said that Harris has supported the Green New Deal, Medicare for All, and legalizing marijuana, all policies that Biden has yet to back,” says Fox News.
“No,” said Harris while laughing dismissively. “It is the perspective of a woman, who grew a Black child in America,” she added through her laughter.
President Trump has said that Harris’s voting record makes her a liability to both the country and to Joe Biden.
“Kamala Harris and her voting record help make the case against Joe Biden,” said Tim Murtaugh, communications director for the Trump campaign.
Harris went on to add that her perspective is also formed by other parts of her identity, including as a prosecutor, the daughter of an immigrant and as a woman “who likes hip-hop” music.
“What do you want to know?” Harris concluded while laughing.
Her dismissal of the question with laughter and her refusal to address her policy positions are similar to those used by then-Democrat nominee Barack Obama in 2008 when confronted by his support for socialist policies.
Both are reacting as if anyone asking such questions about socialism are too stupid to be taken seriously.
“We’re not supposed to have a socialist — look we’re not going to be a socialist nation. We’re not going to have a socialist president, especially a female socialist president, we’re not gonna’ have it, we’re not gonna’ put up with it,” Trump told a rally in Pensacola, FL last week, referencing Harris.
Trump on Kamala Harris: "We're not supposed to have a socialist — look we're not going to be a socialist nation. We're not going to have a socialist president, especially a female socialist president, we're not gonna' have it, we're not gonna' put up with it."

The World Socialist Web dismisses Harris as a political careerist, who will do whatever is politically expedient, including socialism, if it fits her goal to get elected.
“While Harris has been half-hearted and inconsistent in her attempts at social demagogy—not the natural bent of someone who spent most of her career putting people in jail or defending police atrocities against the working class—she has shown somewhat more energy in embracing identity politics,” said the Marxist website.

Biden himself is often tapped by progressives as too moderate for the existing Democrat Party. The selection of Harris as his running mate was made to some extent to allay fears of the Bernie Sanders progressive wing that a Biden presidency would be hostile to them.
Progressives feel that Harris is at least open to their more extreme ideas like Medicaid for All and the Green Energy New Deal, both used as back door entrances to socialism by progressives.
