Social media honchos all ‘um’s and ‘uh’s when asked to name one liberal they have censored

Avatar

Testifying before Congress, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey and Facebook honcho Mark Zuckerberg had literally no answers.

No, it wasn’t that they pleaded the Fifth.

It was just that when pressed for one, single, solitary example of when either of the two social media giants had censored liberal opinion, they couldn’t remember.

Um, uh, uh.

“Can you name for me one high profile person, or entity, from a liberal ideology who you have censored and what particular action you took?” Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) asked Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg.

“Um, Senator, I can get you a, a, a list of some more of this but there are certainly many examples that your Democratic colleagues, um, object to when, when, um … a fact-checker might label something as false if they disagree with it, or, um,” Zuckerberg said before Lee cut him off.

“I get that, I get that. I just want to be clear, I’m just asking you if you could name for me, one high-profile liberal person or company who you have censored,” Lee followed up. “I just want one name, one person or one entity.”

“Um, Sen, Senator I need to think about it,” Zuck said sounding more like a kid who wasn’t prepared for the teacher’s question than a billionaire CEO, promising he would get a list to the Senator if he was given just a little more time to complete the assignment.

That was a big improvement over Twitter’s CEO Jack Dorsey, who appeared to be a cross between a later-day Howard Hughes—in his later, later days—and a disinterested Goth, complete with shaggy beard and non-interest in anything Republican.

“What about you Mr. Dorsey?” Lee asked, looking for just one example of Twitter’s censorship of liberal thought.

“We can give a more exhaustive list,” said Dorsey, parroting the Zuckerberg line. “But again, we don’t have an understanding of the political ideology of our accounts.”

Well, uh, um, a, yeah they do. They have it from the very content that they are censoring.

“I get that, I just want to be clear, I’m just asking you if you could name for me, one high-profile liberal person or company who you have censored,” Lee said. “I just want one name, one person or one entity.”

“I’ll get those names to you,” said Dorsey, refusing to look at the camera, and clearly uninterested in the proceedings.

Senator John Thune also asked Zuckerberg if a Trump supporter was helping Facebook make censorship decisions since they employ a prominent former Biden staffer to head up the effort at Facebook, referring to Anna Makanju, a former policy advisor for Biden.

“I think having balance is valuable, and we try to do that. I am not aware of the example of you say of someone in charge of this process who worked for Biden in the past, so we can follow up on that,” said Zuckerberg
