Progressives prep for war with Dem Party if Biden loses: ‘it’s going to be a f–king bloodbath’
Radical progressives, socialists, Marxists, militant extremists, and Bernie Bros are preparing for war with the Democrats if nominee Joe Biden should lose to President Trump in the 2020 election on November 3. The tug of war within the party will explode in an all-out battle for control if things don’t go the right way for the Left.
“You would see a complete repudiation of the Democratic establishment as we know it,” said Jabari Brisport, 33, a Democratic Socialist-backed candidate for state Senate expected to easily win a Brooklyn seat next week. “The Democratic establishment is not working for everyday people.” The presidential election is not the end of the struggle within the left, it’s just the beginning.
Brisport claims that a Biden defeat would completely discredit the moderate wing of the party, paving the way for more successful insurgents like himself. Many believe however that there is no longer a moderate wing to the Democratic Party and what is desired here is communist control.
“It’s going to be the mirror image of what happened to the Republican party in the Obama years. You had the tea party, just like progressive insurgents, and then when Obama won a second term the Republican party went haywire on the inside and ate its own,” he said.
Unlike the tea party, a progressive revolution would be “a force for good,” stated Bernie Bro Brisport.
There are those on the inside that are even blunter. One senior official at a Democratic Political Action Committee stated: “If Biden loses it’s going to be a f–king bloodbath. There’s no other way to put it,” he said. “Heads will roll. It’s going to be ugly.” The Left has proven this year that this is not hyperbole but a warning of ensuing violence.
Progressives have a fall back plan that bets on internal strife strengthening radicals such as Reps. Pramila Jayapal and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. AOC is rumored to have set her sights on Sen. Chuck Schumer’s seat in 2022. Whispers say she wants to oust him in a primary. Schumer is viewed as a New York moderate with close Wall Street ties. But in reality, he is a radical that simply isn’t far enough to the left to satisfy the Bernie Bros and other progressive radicals.
“Because of how badly they did with the Impeachment Hoax, AOC will primary Cryin’ Chuck Schumer, and win,” President Trump predicted in February.
AOC has been silent on her aspirations. When asked if she would seek Schumer’s seat, the freshman Congresswoman said, “I don’t know.”
There was already unrest in the Democratic Party when Joe Biden was selected as the nominee. He was seen as too moderate during the 2016 primaries and at the time his own party ridiculed him as being a washed-up politician with dementia.
When Biden won the nomination after Sanders won in the early primaries, resentment grew within the party. Democrats aligned behind Biden simply to have the best chance of defeating President Trump. But the enthusiasm in the party for a number of years has been with socialist Bernie Sanders.
The division is not only within the Democratic Party, it will also spill into the streets. The Left is openly saying that if President Trump is reelected there will be months, if not years of serious unrest and violence to contend with.
“You’re talking people in the streets refusing to leave. I’m not talking about looting and riots. I’m talking about everyday folks just going out into the streets in protests, like full-on people in the streets for months,” Hawk Newsome, co-founder of Black Lives Matter Greater New York stated.
It’s not just the Right arming up. Reports are coming in of liberals doing the same. Many on both sides are buying guns for the first time in anticipation of riots and violence after the election.
The media is likely to come unhinged along with liberal causes across the board if Biden should lose. And the Left is already preparing demands of President Trump if he wants anywhere near a civil transition of power.
Writer Shadi Hamid, who considers Trump unfit to lead, says his victory “would provoke mass disillusion with electoral politics as a means of change—at a time when disillusion is already dangerously high. If Democrats can’t beat a candidate as unpopular as Trump during a devastating pandemic and a massive economic contraction, then are they even capable of winning presidential elections anymore?”
Hamid also anticipates violence: “A certain kind of cognitive dissonance—the gap between what is and what should be—can fuel revolutionary sentiment, and not just in a fluffy, radical-chic kind of way. In such situations, acting outside the political process, including through non-peaceful means, becomes more attractive, not necessarily out of hope but out of despair.”
The Left will not accept a Trump win and they can’t deal with a Biden loss. As The Atlantic put it: “This is the era of expecting the worst while hoping for the merely tolerable.” The Bernie Bros have stated they are now waiting in the wings just in case.
