Trump attorney Sidney Powell slams Tucker Carlson: ‘He was insulting, demanding and rude’
On Fox Business’ “Mornings with Maria,” Trump campaign attorney Sidney Powell slammed Tucker Carlson for being “insulting, demanding and rude” when questioned about her not appearing on Carlson’s show. Powell has been at the forefront of President Trump’s efforts to prove voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election. She appeared in a news conference Thursday with Rudy Giuliani and Jenna Ellis. The presentation went on for 90 minutes.
“We have one very strong witness who has explained how it all works,” Powell said at the conference. “His affidavit is attached to the pleadings of Lin Wood and the lawsuit he filed in Georgia. … As soon as he saw multiple states shut down the voting on the night of the election, he knew the same thing was happening here.”
Powell alleged that various “spikes” in the vote count following election night were evidence that someone was using the software in order to steal votes from Trump and ensure a President-elect Joe Biden victory.
“In terms of the level of corruption we are looking at here, we have no idea how many Republican or Democratic candidates … paid to have the system rigged to work for them,” she added.
Fox Business’ Maria Bartiromo asked Powell concerning the Carlson interview, “How do you respond to Tucker Carlson? Did you get angry with the show because they texted you and asked you to please provide evidence of what you’re alleging?”
“No, I didn’t get angry with the request to provide evidence,” Powell replied. “In fact, I sent an affidavit to Tucker that I had not even attached to a pleading yet to help him understand the situation, and I offered him another witness who could explain the math and the statistical evidence far better than I can. I’m not really a numbers person.” Powell then pointed to Carlson’s demeanor, “He was insulting, demanding and rude, and I told him not to contact me again, in those terms.”
In response to Carlson, Powell told the Washington Examiner: “Apparently Mr. Carlson missed the news conference today. I would continue to encourage him and all journalists to review all the materials we have provided so far and conduct their own investigations. Evidence continues to pour in, but a 5-minute television hit is not my focus now. Collecting evidence and preparing the case are my top priorities.”
On Thursday evening’s episode of “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Tucker called out Powell’s alleged inability to present any evidence of her claim that Communist countries such as Cuba, China, and Venezuela were behind a voting system used in the 2020 election, that she stated switched votes from Trump to Biden. The company behind the voting machines is Dominion.
“Sidney Powell has been saying similar things for days. On Sunday night, we texted her after watching one of her segments. What Powell was describing what amounts to the single greatest crime in American history,” Carlson said. “Millions of votes stolen in the day. Democracy destroyed, the end of our centuries-old system of self-government, not a small thing.”
“We invited Sidney Powell on this show, we would’ve given her the whole hour, we would’ve given her the entire week and listen quietly the whole time at rapt attention — that is a big story,” Carlson added, before accusing Powell of failing to back up her election fraud claims with evidence. “But she never sent us any evidence despite a lot of requests, polite requests, not a page. When we kept pressing, she got angry and told us to stop contacting her. When we checked with others around the Trump campaign, people with positions of authority, they told us Powell has never given them any evidence of either, nor has she provided any today at the press conference.”
At the end of Carlson’s segment, he noted he was only searching for the truth. “In the end, that’s all that matters, the truth, he explained. “It’s our only hope. It’s our best defense. It’s how we are different from them. We care what’s true, and we know you care too. That’s why we told you.”
… and conduct their own investigations. Evidence continues to pour in, but a 5 minute television hit is not my focus now. Collecting evidence and preparing the case are my top priorities.”
