AOC’s incessant whining that Repubs can’t handle her working as a waitress is simply hilarious

Someone might want to inform Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) that millions of Americans worked two jobs to put themselves through college. Many of them already had children as well. AOC attempted to spank Republicans who she says have previously mocked her background as a waitress by suggesting that they themselves can’t handle such a job. A ridiculous assertion as many college-educated waitresses can attest to — AOC is not the only one to work as a waitress while earning a degree no matter what she claims.
Tweeting her own horn, the “Squad” member took to Twitter on Thursday to wax poetic over the unique “work ethic” she brings to Congress while swiping at conservative lawmakers. Republicans were quick to knock her down over her claims.
“The thing that these conservative Senators don’t seem to understand is that I’ve actually had a physically difficult working-class job without good healthcare most of my adult life.” Ocasio-Cortez wrote. “I bring that work ethic to Congress & to my community. They sit around on leather chairs all day.”
She later followed that with, “Republicans like to make fun of the fact that I used to be a waitress, but we all know if they ever had to do a double they’d be the ones found crying in the walk-in fridge halfway through their first shift bc someone yelled at them for bringing seltzer when they wanted sparkling.”
Context is everything… AOC was defending herself after getting into a Twitter smackdown with Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL). He hilariously suggested that Ocasio-Cortez should “work more” and “tweet less.” He nailed her: “Work more, tweet less & one day you too can make a difference.”
Working together R’s & D’s helped save the jobs of 55 million Americans through PPP

Rubio was responding to a tweet in which Ocasio-Cortez criticized “Republicanism” while claiming Black-owned businesses were denied access to Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans during the coronavirus pandemic.
“Black-owned small businesses were widely shut out from accessing PPP loans, yet right-wing disinfo org PV [Project Veritas] took half a million in public money while decrying direct federal assistance as ‘radical socialism.’ Republicanism in a nutshell. (Also they’re based in Mamaroneck?!),” she tweeted.
Rubio came to the defense of the GOP, writing that “Working together R’s & D’s helped save the jobs of 55 million Americans through PPP.”

And wasn’t AOC a bartender? When did that morph into being a waitress? Just asking.
Twitter was not kind to the young socialist over her tweets. Especially since she was just mocked roundly for decrying capitalism while selling expensive hoodies and sweatshirts on her site.

A number of conservatives educated the ill-informed progressive.
“This is wrong,” wrote Kasey Lovett, press secretary for HUD Secretary Dr. Ben Carson. “I was a waitress for 5+ years throughout high school and college. I am a Republican and I cried in walk-in fridges just like you. The difference between us? I don’t expect the gvt to provide for me. I make my own $ and provide for myself.”

“I spent my first week in the Army on 4 hours of sleep a night and a sprained ankle, digging one hole to fill in the hole I had just dug the hour before. Cry me a river (‘cuz I didn’t).” Daily Caller associate editor Virginia Kruta tweeted.

“I did that, plus worked a second retail job while paying my own bills in college,” Dana Loesch stated.

“I’ve worked a thousand doubles. it’s really not that impressive. I don’t think anyone should mock the fact that a representative worked her way up, but millions of people work long days without needing a trophy,” The Blaze social media editor Jessica O’Donnell wrote.

“During high school, I woke up at 4:30 AM to work at a before school program with kids until I had to go to school. After school I’d work at an after school program for another three hours. I worked my butt off to support myself since I didn’t have supportive parents. But go off,” Lone Conservative founder Kassy Dillon said, later adding, “And that was just when I was a teenager. I work even more than that now. Some of the hardest working people I know are Republicans.”

Let’s not forget the age-shaming here either…
These Republicans who are defensively rage-tweeting “But you’re wrong! I worked my way to pay through college!!” don’t realize they sound like folks who speak of the days when Hershey bars were 5¢ at the general store.

As if older Americans don’t have a right to explain to this leftist how they worked as much and more than she has. Most Americans, regardless of financial status, have worked hard their entire lives. They earned those leather chairs.
And amid Rep. Paul Mitchell pointing out her ridiculous stereotyping, AOC continues to go on and absolutely makes no sense. Any excuse to disparage President Trump. Points for the ‘boorishness’ reference – she knows of which she speaks.
My comments were directed at Republicans who mock my history in service work.
That includes President Trump, who you’ve stood by and defended through such attacks, by the way.
But if that boorishness doesn’t apply to you, then why feel the rush to defend yourself? https://t.co/TCro8jkcim

Fellow “Squad” member Ilhan Omar was quick to come to AOC’s defense and managed to make a fool of herself as well. She states working full time isn’t enough to pay for college anymore and how she worked full time, raising two children while struggling to make ends meet. That’s nothing new… again, see the millions of Americans who have done the very same thing.
For one: this lacks understanding of the rising cost of college, working “nearly full time to pay for college” isn’t enough to pay for college anymore.
I worked full time, raising two children & struggled to make ends meet.
Today, 4.8 mil college students are raising children. https://t.co/ameRVdcNgI

Rather than collectively whining over the cost of college and how they had to work so hard to make it, do what Americans have always been known for… work hard and find a way to accomplish your goals. As Rubio, pointed out… work harder, tweet less.
