‘Girl, bye!’: Don Lemon whines about Kayleigh McEnany holding media accountable

CNN’s Don Lemon decided to gleefully attack White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany in her final days in that position as she goes after the media and their refusal to cover such stories as the Hunter Biden scandal and Eric Swalwell and his Chinese spy affiliations. He was incensed at her refusal to acknowledge President-elect Joe Biden.

“How do I describe this, uh, carnival of lies that is the White House,” asked a frustrated Lemon. “The current president is hunkered down behind closed doors, nursing his wounded pride, his press secretary is acting like the election didn’t even happen. Acting like she is not about to be out of a job.”

McEnany at one time worked at CNN with Don Lemon and he weaponized that fact in his monologue.

Lemon then played several clips of McEnany handling questions about Biden by deferring to the “campaign.” She cited “ongoing litigation.”

“The president is still involved in ongoing litigation related to the election,” McEnany said at one point. “Yesterday’s vote was one step in the constitutional process. I will refer you to the campaign for more on that.”

Lemon laid into McEnany, attacking her with abandon.

“Do you know she also worked for — girl, bye!” Lemon said, abruptly and ineptly dismissing McEnany after seemingly starting to note her former stint as a CNN contributor during the 2016 campaign.

“There is no other — girl, bye!” Then plagiarizing a childish line from the “Total Bastard Airlines” SNL skit, Lemon added: “Buh-bye.”

“So much disinformation coming from the podium. Every day, it’s like, comes out, reads propaganda,” Lemon said, studiously looking outraged. “Talks about what ‘the media‘ is doing, criticizes ‘the media,’ ‘this what you should be covering.’ I think we got this. You used to sit here on the set with us. I think we got it. When you sat here with us, you thought we had it. You were happy to be here. Now, we don’t know what we’re doing?”

“Girl. Bye.”

McEnany noted in her press conference on Tuesday that President Trump’s Middle East peace deals haven’t received significant coverage by the mainstream media but told viewers they shouldn’t be shocked by that.

“In the last 24, 48 hours there have been quite a few stories that have not gotten a ton of coverage in the mainstream media, as former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer said, ‘Bias is often found in the stories the press does not cover,’” McEnany said before citing recent examples.

“When the Swalwell story broke, guess how many minutes of coverage it got on ABC, NBC, MSNBC, and CBS? Zero. CNN devoted three minutes and 16 seconds to it,” McEnany said before pivoting to the media downplaying the ongoing Hunter Biden scandal.

“Which was not covered, at all, by many outlets in the lead up to the election. In fact, on Oct. 15 you had a New York Times headline that said, ‘Trump said to be warned that he was being given Russian disinformation over Hunter Biden,’” McEnany said. “Now, Dec. 10, just a few months later, New York Times headline, ‘Investigation of Hunter Biden is likely to hang over Biden as he takes office.’”

As McEnany left the podium following her criticism of the media, CNN’s far-left White House reporter Jim Acosta shouted, “Isn’t it hypocritical for you to accuse others of disinformation when you spread it every day?”
