Biden calls reporter a ‘one-horse pony’ for asking about Hunter. A one-horse pony?
After months of steadfastly avoiding asking Joe Biden any tough questions about, well, anything, the mainstream media apparently is now dissatisfied with Biden’s no-talk game.
Biden has limited his availability to the media and when he does come out of the basement, he is fielding questions from select reporters.
The Blaze recently reported that at the president-elect’s weekly press briefing on Friday, via Zoom, Biden allowed only five questions. They came from The New York Times, CNN, The Washington Post, PBS, and Politico. That prompted other liberal reporters to sound off about lack of access.
“Hey guys, there tons of folks looking to ask questions and since this is being done once a week, could we PLEASE go longer or at least hold more frequent briefings?” Sam Stein of the Daily Beast asked, according to The Blaze.
“Any chance you can take a few more questions? There are a lot of folks here with questions,” The Associated Press’s Zeke Miller wondered.
Another journalist, Andrew Feinberg, asked, “Is there a point in saying we want to ask questions if you only call on the same small group every week?”
To the detriment of the American people, the media have brought this on themselves, by permitting Biden to set the rules in away they never would have allowed with President Donald Trump, including shutting down reporting on the various controversies surrounding Biden’s son, Hunter – knowledge of which, a recent Media Research Center study showed, could have swung the election in swing states.
But one reporter still sees the importance of doing his job – Peter Doocy of Fox News.
On Dec. 10, after Hunter Biden, conveniently after the election, revealed the FBI was investigating him as a potential tax cheat, Doocy asked unscripted questions of Joe Biden.
“Did Hunter Biden commit a crime?” he asked the elder Biden. “Have you spoken to your son, Mr. President-elect?” Biden answered: “I’m proud of my son.”
A few days later, Doocy tried again. After Biden delivered some prepared remarks, Doocy asked him, “When did you find out your son was being investigated?” To which Biden, harboring a slight sneer, answered, “Thanks for the congratulations. I appreciate it.”
Well, Doocy was not done. As Biden wrapped up a press conference Tuesday, Doocy asked, “Mr. President-elect, do you still think that the stories from the fall about your son Hunter were Russian disinformation and a smear campaign like you said?”
“Yes, yes, yes. God love you, man. You’re a one-horse pony,” a laughing Biden said as he exited the stage.
“I promise you my Justice Department will be totally on its own, making its judgments about how they should proceed.”
We don’t know yet if the media will regret or pay for doing Biden’s bidding on Hunter’s laptop, his taxes, his overseas cash hauls, or any other Joe Biden gaffe or controversy.
But at least Peter Doocy is doing the job he’s paid to do.
