Neil deGrasse Tyson goes woke for Christmas, insists Santa ‘misgendered’ his reindeer

Liberal science author Neil deGrasse Tyson decided to Grinch up Christmas on Twitter this Christmas Eve by pointing out, in his opinion, that it isn’t scientifically possible for Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer to be male. Yes, he brought gender into the woke midst of what is 2020.

“Santa doesn’t know Zoology: Both male & female Reindeer grow antlers. But all male Reindeer lose their antlers in the late fall, well-before Christmas,” observed Tyson, before offering his followers the big kicker: “So Santa’s reindeer, which all sport antlers, are therefore all female, which means Rudolf has been misgendered.”

He also alluded to Santa being a knowledgeable physicist since Rudolph’s nose is the perfect color for navigating poor weather. “Santa Knows Physics: Of all colors, Red light penetrates fog best. That’s why Benny the Blue-nosed reindeer never got the gig.”

Twitter melted down over the un-Christmasy proclamations by Tyson. He was roasted over an open fire.

One commenter states: “Neil doesn’t know Rudolph’s history. He first appeared in 1939 and he had no antlers.” Many more followed suit.

“Been studying this extensively for months – According to ‘Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer’ (copyright 1949), Rudolph had “only tiny stubs” for antlers. He most likely dropped them late fall and they grew back early due to genetic mutations.”

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) lit the fire: “Next you’re going to tell me he doesn’t fly all around the world in one night, come down all our chimneys, and leave presents for good little boys & girls. Bah humbug. A lump of coal for you.”

Big names lined up to take a torch to Tyson over crushing the dreams of little children on Christmas.

The National Security Advisor for Ted Cruz, Omri Ceren, left a mark.

“The amazing thing about this tweet – and it has to be deliberate, so I sort of respect the hustle – is it gets progressively more obnoxious the further along you read. About midway through you say to yourself “wow there’s no way this could get more obnoxious” then bam, punchline.”

Jonah Goldberg nails Tyson… precisely.

“I’m a thief of joy because someone told me that made me cool when I was 12.”

The Director of Communications for the President, Tim Murtaugh, threw a zinger as well.

“This guy must be fun at Christmas parties.”

In the midst of all the lambasting, Tyson’s tweets still went viral. It was probably a mixture of disgust and wokeness.

Santa is magical and so are his reindeer. Gender never had a thing to do with it, nor did physics. And let’s not forget the point of Christmas which is celebrating the birth of our Savior. But Tyson dissed that as well.

Tyson is not alone in missing the point of Santa and his reindeer. New York’s Governor Cuomo took steps to ensure Santa Claus was able to travel around the state this Christmas Eve. He magnanimously announced that the New York State Department of Health has granted Santa a waiver to travel to New York for Christmas.

“Santa Claus asked for an exception for the 14-day quarantine requirement because it would be impractical for him to be in the state and then quarantine and still get all his gifts delivered on time,” Cuomo said. “We normally do not do waivers of quarantine…but DOH has been considering it for the past few days, and they have actually granted the request.”

While the state has granted the waiver, Santa was required to wear a mask this year.

“I think you will still be able to recognize him even though he’ll be wearing a mask because he does have a fairly distinct outfit that he wears plus his body style is fairly distinct,” Cuomo said. “So I don’t think there will be any issue in identifying Santa this year. He’ll be able to do his job, but do it safely because he’ll be wearing a mask.”

Even Dr. Anthony Fauci went on Sesame Street to reassure Elmo that Santa was safe. “I measured his level of immunity, and he is good to go,” Fauci said. “He can come down the chimney, he can leave the presents, he can leave and you have nothing to worry about.”

It would seem that the liberal trolling of Christmas this year was widespread and very politically correct.

The tweet also earned Tyson a nomination for one of the worst takes of 2020, as part of the annual ‘List’ compiled by commenter Siraj Hashmi.
