‘Pettiest man in news’: CNN’s Jake Tapper roasted after whining about Trump’s ‘mean tweets’

CNN’s Jake Tapper is being mercilessly mocked on social media over whining about President Trump retweeting “mean tweets” about him during the coronavirus pandemic. On Monday, Fox News host Mark Levin mocked Tapper and CNN’s in-house media pundit Brian Stelter in a tweet, along with a story about a segment in which Tapper recently called White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany a liar. That set Twitter ablaze and Tapper was torched as an unprofessional, hypocritical cry-baby over his response to the tweets after attacking McEnany.
“Helter Stelter, Fake Tapper, et all, have forever destroyed their reputations. CNN has been fully exposed by Project Veritas and the daily insane rants of their on-air Democrat,” Levin wrote, referring to recordings of CNN’s conference calls that were recently published by Project Veritas that featured network leaders squelching a story that was damaging to the Biden campaign.
President Trump retweeted Levin’s tweet and Tapper broke down over it. He proceeded to make it all about him. It should be noted that the CNN anchor is known within the journalism industry for confronting young reporters who write anything negative about him via private messages.
“The American people are suffering though [sic] the deadliest month of the pandemic and the president is RTing mean tweets about me,” Tapper wrote showcasing a screenshot of Levin’s tweet with “Donald J. Trump retweeted” highlighted.
“Nice work everyone,” Tapper added with clapping emojis. That final touch was seen as infantile by many on social media and very unprofessional.

NewsBusters’ managing editor Curtis Houck scorched Tapper over his reaction and nailed him for it.
“The pettiest man in news, everyone,” Houck wrote. That also went viral in a wide consensus over Tapper and his reporting.

Mark Levin also bluntly told Tapper off, “You’re such a clown, Jake. No circumspection. No professionalism. All narcissism all the time.”

Many others on Twitter followed suit. These are just a few examples of the derision and ridicule thrown Tapper’s way.

This dust-up follows White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany slicing and dicing Tapper after he criticized her and called her a liar on-air. Tapper insisted that he doesn’t have McEnany on his program because she “lies the way that, you know, most people breathe,” and therefore isn’t valuable to viewers.
Tapper did not describe or produce an ounce of evidence concerning even one instance where McEnany made a false statement and she expertly pointed out that fact.
“This is a therapy session for a broken network, and @jaketapper is lazy enough to participate by lobbing baseless personal attacks, with ZERO evidence,” McEnany wrote. “Jake’s real problem: I do not leak. I do not lie. But I DO call out the lies of the media (i.e. CNN Russia collusion hoax!)”
