Google Play Store bans Parler app until it kneels at the altar of political correctness
In a blatant move to squelch free speech a la Orwell’s ‘1984’, Google announced Friday that they would suspend social media platform Parler’s listing from its Play Store due to a failure to moderate “egregious content” posted by users related to the violent siege on Capitol Hill this week. Does anyone even know what that means? Correct me if I’m mistaken, but that is censorship of the first order. Parler already does not allow violent content but they do not fact-check or surveil their members – because it’s supposed to be a free country. They certainly don’t silence them for being conservative and the left simply won’t stand for that. No siree.
Friday night, Parler saw a huge increase in traffic as people dumped Twitter and fled to their social media platform. That happened right after Twitter banned President Trump over alleged incitement of violence. Conservatives saw big drops in their followers as a result. Even Rush Limbaugh is said to have closed his account and is migrating to Parler. That’s what happens when you try to muzzle people – they will always find a way to communicate and maybe bite your ankle in response.
A spokesperson for Google confirmed in a statement to Fox News that its “longstanding policies” require that apps with user-generated content have measures in place to remove certain obscene content, including posts that incite violence. Developers agree to those terms. Again, for the hard of hearing on the left, Parler already has such policies in place. ‘Obscene’ is what they are doing to free speech.
From big brother Google:
“In order to protect user safety on Google Play, our longstanding policies require that apps displaying user-generated content have moderation policies and enforcement that removes egregious content like posts that incite violence. All developers agree to these terms and we have reminded Parler of this clear policy in recent months. We’re aware of continued posting in the Parler app that seeks to incite ongoing violence in the US. We recognize that there can be reasonable debate about content policies and that it can be difficult for apps to immediately remove all violative content, but for us to distribute an app through Google Play, we do require that apps implement robust moderation for egregious content. In light of this ongoing and urgent public safety threat, we are suspending the app’s listings from the Play Store until it addresses these issues.”
The company noted that the measures it took on Friday will not impact Parler’s availability on the web or other Android app stores and the platform will not be removed from existing users’ phones. They are generously allowing you to stay on Parler… for now. Kneeling and submission are the latest fashion on social media these days.
Can it get any worse? Yep, Amazon turns to Google and says ‘hold my beer’. Parler is hosted on Amazon. And Amazon could boot them as well and they would be no more.
Then on Friday, Buzzfeed News also obtained an email from Apple to Parler executives threatening to take down the site from its iPhone app store unless the social media network implements a stringent speech moderation policy within 24 hours. That is the primary way that Parler is distributed.
“We have received numerous complaints regarding objectionable content in your Parler service, accusations that the Parler app was used to plan, coordinate, and facilitate the illegal activities in Washington D.C. on January 6, 2021, that led (among other things) to loss of life, numerous injuries, and the destruction of property,” Apple wrote to Parler. “The app also appears to continue to be used to plan and facilitate yet further illegal and dangerous activities.”

Parler, which was founded in 2018, was “built upon a foundation of respect for privacy and personal data, free speech, free markets, and ethical, transparent corporate policy.”
Some freedom-minded conservatives such as Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Rand Paul (R-KY) began turning to the platform this year after becoming frustrated with content moderation on the major platforms. Imagine that, they respect free speech – how passe.
Both Facebook and Twitter locked Trump’s account this week permanently.
“Incite violence” is the excuse all the tech dictators are using to purge every Trump supporter they can find. They want to ‘cleanse’ platforms of them. Anyone who dares to mention election fraud now will be inciting violence. See how that works? Even if you do it in a woke, non-gender manner, you will be persecuted for it. Support Trump? You are calling for insurrection. Wear a MAGA hat… hate speech!
It puts the movie ‘The Purge’ in a whole new light and it won’t stop at social media. They are coming for conservatives.
