Red-hot! Strategists say thuggish FBI raid may have just ‘handed’ Trump the presidency in 2024

According to talking heads, supporters, and strategists, unless the FBI comes up with something substantive, the banana republic-style raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence may have literally just handed the presidency to him in 2024.

When you have commenters on CNN such as former White House communications director Alyssa Farah Griffin asserting that the Department of Justice may have “handed” Trump the Republican nomination and possibly the presidency in 2024, you know that the left has potentially shot itself in the foot with its fascistic overreach.

“This, I’m hoping, goes beyond simply not complying with some archiving laws, or DOJ just handed Donald Trump the Republican nominee and potentially the presidency,” Griffin flatly stated during a segment on “New Day” with John Berman and Brianna Keilar. “If it’s seen as some sort of massive overreach and not something incredibly serious, this is a very good day for Donald Trump.”

“[Trump] was ready to go,” she pointed out. “And actually I’ve seen quite, sort of aligned messaging among Republicans… I think he’s having a good day as of now, so I hope DOJ is buttoned up on this.”

He knows how to play this up in his favor,” Griffin warned.

Strategists are now contending that the historically unprecedented raid could massively strengthen Trump’s potential 2024 presidential bid. It appears to have solidified Republican support for the former president.

“I’ve never seen the GOP base this red-hot before, and it’s clearly causing Republicans to rally to his defense,” Andy Surabian, a GOP strategist and former White House official under Trump, asserted according to Fox News. “Ironically, all the Democrat-media attacks on Trump, from yesterday’s raid to the January 6th Committee hearings, do nothing politically but ensure that Republican voters stay attached to his hip.”

“The White House is claiming to have not had advance notice the FBI were going to raid the home of the preceding President of the United States?! Please. This is so sure to boost Trump and his chances, you wonder if it’s intentional,” Gregg Keller, who is a Missouri-based GOP strategist, told the New York Post.

“Whether it’s the IRS auditing conservative organizations or DOJ relying on a Democrat research dossier as a pretext to launch an investigation of Trump in 2016, these actions stoke GOP resentment,” Chuck Flint, a former chief of staff to Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) told The Post. “The raid at Mar-a-Lago will energize Republican voters who haven’t forgotten Hillary Clinton deleting 33,000 emails and walking away with a slap on the wrist.”

“This is a bell that can’t be un-rung,” GOP pollster Adam Geller also told The Post. “The raid and the way in which it was orchestrated and reported gives Republican and swing voters a jolt that will essentially carry through the midterm elections and perhaps beyond. There is no question that Republicans and President Trump can leverage this to their political benefit.”

Following the DOJ-ordered raid, Republicans have hammered the Justice Department over governmental overreach. The left is ostensibly playing right into Trump’s hands, making him a martyr and a hero to Americans rather than vilifying him.

Approximately 30 FBI agents raided Trump’s estate on Monday while he was in New York City. The left is claiming it was related to materials the former president brought to his residence after leaving office in 2021.

Tellingly, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre would not deny that the DOJ and FBI had been weaponized against political opponents.

Trump broke the news of the raid himself, issuing a scathing statement that accused the Biden administration of a “weaponization of the justice system.”

“Nothing like this has ever happened to a president of the United States before,” Trump proclaimed in a statement. “After working and cooperating with the relevant government agencies, this unannounced raid on my home was not necessary or appropriate.”

The vague reasoning given for conducting the raid and the Justice Department’s stony silence following the move has given the former president the power to define the narrative surrounding the incident. It’s also significantly increased American distrust of the Department of Justice, the FBI, and President Biden.

“The FBI brand has been damaged, the DOJ brand has been damaged,” stated Brendan Steinhauser, who is a Republican consultant that has been at the helm of several high-profile campaigns, according to Fox News. “The trust in those institutions has been lessened for a number of reasons, including the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.”

The Republican nomination for the presidency in 2024 is Trump’s for the taking and if Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is on the ticket with Trump, it’s hard to imagine that the Democrats will taste anything but defeat in the election. That terrifies the left and the raid reeks of desperation.

Republicans are incensed by the egregious disrespect of a former president. Even those who were not strong supporters of the former president are now rallying around him.

“A stunning move by the DOJ and FBI,” Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin stated on Twitter. “This same DOJ labeled parents in Loudoun County as terrorists and failed to enforce federal law to protect Justices in their homes. Selective, politically motivated actions have no place in our democracy.”

Republican strategists are quick to point out that Biden and Attorney General Merrick Garland look incredibly bad to Americans after storming Trump’s home while he was out of state.

“The American people view all of these institutions, from the DOJ to the FBI, with skepticism because they think they’ve been politicized,” Steinhauser charged. “It’s happened under numerous presidents, but it’s something Biden will have to own at the ballot box.”
