NBA dunked for Election Day ‘pause’ that alienates those who don’t ‘want to be marinated in this woke culture’

True to form, the hyper-woke National Basketball Association will be joining in the effort to keep Congress under control of the Democrats by announcing that it will not be playing games on the day of the critical midterm elections and on the day before, fans will be subjected to political messaging in arenas where a full slate of contests will be played.

The NBA’s hypocrisy is once again on full display as the league that at one time marketed itself under the slogan of being “Fantastic” with an emphasis on “fan” has fallen into disfavor with viewers who have watched the league of Larry Bird, Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan and its golden brand give way to featuring surly, rich ignoramus and self-styled race expert LeBron James as its public face, advocating for Black Lives Matter and running cover for the Chinese communist regime.

The NBA unveiled its schedule for the upcoming 2022-2023 season along with the announcement that no games would be played on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, and that the league would “focus on promoting nonpartisan civic engagement and encouraging fans to make a plan to vote during midterm elections,” when Democrats are widely expected to be clobbered.

Nationally syndicated talk radio host and Outkick founder Clay Travis joined the “Fox & Friends” crew on Wednesday morning where he slam-dunked the NBA over its Election Day politicking and its shilling for a Democratic party that like the NBA, has expressed little interest in the horrific human rights abuses that continue to take place in China.

“Look, it’s not only that they’re not going to play games on Election Day, it’s that the day before Election Day all 30 teams are going to play and they are gonna lecture all of us about left-wing politics and it just is such an awful decision by the NBA which has alienated a massive amount of their otherwise audience that loves watching basketball and just doesn’t want to be marinated in this woke culture,” Travis said.

“Which as Enes Kanter pointed out is also incredibly hypocritical because they will rip American institutions and values to the high heavens but then they’ll hop on jets and go play in the UAE for instance where if you’re gay you can be beheaded,” he added.

Travis was referring to Enes Kanter Freedom who has been effectively blackballed by the league for his outspoken criticism of China including making a political statement last year when King James and his Los Angeles Lakers took to the hardwood against the Boston Celtics whom he played for at the time, wearing sneakers depicting LeBron as being crowned by Chairman Xi.

“That’s not even hyperbole, that’s what they do at the United Arab Emirates and the NBA is fine with playing a preseason game there,” Travis continued, “but then they gotta lecture us all about American politics and of course they’ll never mention China or any other country’s global failings.”

Fox News’s Steve Doocy noted that Freedom had no issue with the league taking the day off for voting but expressed the opinion that the NBA is encouraging fans to vote for Democrats.

“Oh yeah, of course, that’s exactly what they’re doing,” Travis responded. “Look, if their position was ‘hey, we’re going to take a day on Election Day to talk about American exceptionalism and how America is the greatest country in the history of the world, the most welcoming, the least racist, let’s all celebrate our privilege and good fortune to live here, I think the vast majority of Americans would say OK.”

“The problem is the Democrat Party and woke politics in general essentially is founded on the principal now of everything is racist and America is awful and that’s what I believe the day before Election Day will be spent parroting in the NBA,” he said.
