Ian washes brand new McLaren P1 supercar worth over $1 MILLION from Naples garage

When it comes to natural disasters, the loss of life trumps any loss of property, after all property can be replaced. At the same time, as was seen in Naples, Florida, not all property is created equally.

Hurricane Ian swept ashore Wednesday in Southwest Florida at over 150 mph delivering catastrophic results, particularly in the Naples and Fort Myers areas which took the brunt of the massive hurricane’s storm surge. More than two million people were left without power and officials have confirmed 17 fatalities so far, with the overall number expected to be in the hundreds, according to one local sheriff.

And while the internet was inundated with photos and videos of the widespread damage, one such incident involving a beautiful yellow McLaren P1 supercar worth over $1 million stood out. A luxury sports car enthusiast named Ernie shared on Instagram photos and video footage of his garage being flooded — yes, that’s a Rolls Royce also seen floating in the water.

Social media users also shared the video footage was shared on Twitter. Ernie explained that the moment captured was “before the P1 went thru the garage” along with the Rolls-Royce.

Sadly, the McLaren P1 had just 300 miles on the odometer, as Ernie had just recently purchased it – he jokingly called the luxury sports car his “hurricane supply car.”

Additional footage and images show the car slowly being swept down the street by flood waters:

As for where the expensive sports car ended up, Ernie also shared heartbreaking images of its final resting place like so much garbage. The good news is that insurance will likely soften the blow for the proud owner of an amazing automobile:
