GOP senator gets last word when CNN shill flips the script!

An interview with Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson (R) went off the rails when CNN flipped the script to talk about “fake electors.”

“Which ones, sir?”

Corporate media efforts to demonize election integrity concerns allegedly took on ambush-style tactics Monday when the congressman joined CNN’s “The Source” to discuss Ukraine and the southern border crisis. When anchor Kaitlan Collins shifted to a Wisconsin Election Commission official, the senator was forced to spar.

As one of ten so-called “fake electors” who settled a civil lawsuit last week after they had signed onto documents asserting former President Donald Trump and not then-former Vice President Joe Biden had won the 2020 presidential election, calls have rung out for Robert Spindell to step down or be removed from his position, including from Wisconsin Secretary of State Sarah Godlewski (D), according to the Associated Press.

Collins raised the matter to Johnson Monday and asked flatly, “Do you think he should resign from that given the role he played in the fake elector scheme?”

“No,” he began in reply. “Again, there was an active court case. There were all kinds of irregularities in Wisconsin in the 2020 election. In order to make sure the case just wasn’t determined to be moot, they had to have an alternate slate of electors, just like Democrats have done repeatedly in all kinds of different states. There was nothing untoward about what they did. There was nothing illegal about what they did. They were just an alternate slate of electors.”

“They were going to court,” furthered Collins. “They had $2.4 million on the line in damages if they lost this case in trial.”

Holding his position, the senator asserted, “Democrats are using the civil courts to harass these poor individuals. It’s unfortunate. It’s a travesty. But that’s what Democrats do. They view politics as a blood sport. It was unfortunate. These folks did nothing different than what many Democrats have done in many states.”

As cross-talk ensued with the anchor pushing the narrative that efforts were made to overturn the 2020 election and Johnson maintained the legal action was a “nuisance lawsuit,” he expressed, “Democrat electors have done that repeatedly. Democrats have done-”

“Which one? In Wisconsin, there’s been fake slates of electors?” challenged Collins.

“No, it’s happened in different states,” he said earning the question, “Which ones, sir?”

It was then that Johnson began to cry foul over the topic change in the interview, “I didn’t come prepared to give you the exact states, but it’s happened repeatedly. It has happened repeatedly. Just go check the books.”

“Which books?” she asked deadpan.

“I mean, there have been alternate slates of electors by Democrat electors in our history. Again, you didn’t — this wasn’t what this interview was gonna be about,” he remarked before asserting there would be receipts. “I’ll come in, I’ll provide you the information, but I’m absolutely certain about that.”

To that end, the Wisconsin lawmaker delivered as he took to social media not long after the interview aired with a sourced list of four examples to support his point and remarked, “I went on CNN to speak about Ukraine and Biden’s open border. What the MSM fails to cover is that Democrats have been denying elections for decades. In 2016, Democrats pushed the false Russia collusion hoax. And here are many more examples of Democrats denying elections:”

“1. In the 1960 election, Democrats in Hawaii chose an alternative slate of electors, allowing JFK to be certified as the winner,” he wrote with a link to an article from The Federalist. “2. In 2005, Sen. Barbara Boxer and Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones led a group of 31 representatives in objecting to the certification of Ohio’s electors. Those 31 include Jim Clyburn, Sheila Jackson Lee, Barbara Lee, now-Sen. Ed. Markey, Benny Thompson, and Maxine Waters.”

Then, sourcing Politico, he added, “3. In 2016, Democrat electors from Washington state and Colorado signed onto an attempt to block Trump from winning an Electoral College majority.”

To close he brought up, “4. In 2017, Reps. Jamie Raskin, Pramila Jayapal, Barbara Lee, Sheila Jackson Lee, Raúl Grijalva, Maxine Waters, and Jim McGovern, all objected to electoral votes for Trump.”

It remained to be seen whether or not Collins would allow Johnson to set the record straight on her program and many chided the network over the treatment designed to frame the senator and others as conspiracy theorists.
