President Joe Biden’s “climate czar” John Kerry is costing U.S. taxpayers millions a year in salaries he doles out to staff in his office.
In fact, all but one “policy analyst” in his office gets six-figure salaries in what amounts to $4.3 million annually, according to documents obtained through the Freedom of Information Act.
The Boston Herald reviewed State Department records in what it called “a rare glimpse into Kerry’s fiefdom,” noting however that Kerry “does not reveal the names of anyone on his staff and redacts the titles of eight top aides paid up to $186,680 a year.”

“Kerry, who falls under the State Department but has told the Herald he only reports to President Biden, has never been forthcoming since being named Special Presidential Envoy for Climate,” the Boston Herald noted.
James Rosenbaum, the branch chief of Statutory Compliance for the State Department, defended the need for redacting the names as revealing them “would constitute a clearly unwarranted invasion of an individual’s personal privacy.”
The newspaper noted that Kerry informed them he would not be sharing information about his staff until October, just weeks before Americans cast their votes for president.

“Once again, the lack of transparency from John Kerry’s secretive State Department Office of the Special Presidential Envoy for Climate is not only stunning but, sadly, par for the course,” said Michael Chamberlain, the director of government watchdog Protect the Public’s Trust.
“What little information this document does reveal is that the median salary of folks who work for him hovers around $170,000 per year. And what does the American public get for that?” he said, adding that the former secretary of state’s “disturbing level of influence on foreign policy to powerful left-leaning special interests” should be looked into.
Last week, House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) announced an investigation into “Kerry’s collusion with leftist environmental groups to join the Powering Past Coal Alliance (PPCA) and to undermine U.S. national and energy security.”
