The former president leveled serious charges against “Crazy Nancy Pelosi” and the Jan. 6 committee, implicating the former speaker based on evidence “deleted and destroyed.”
After extensive delays and the ousting of the previous gavel-holder, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) has allowed for the release of thousands of hours of footage from the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. However, the transparency may be too little too late according to former President Donald Trump who leveled Friday that the now-defunct committee had covered the tracks of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.)
Taking to Truth Social, the former president ripped his legal battles with special attention given to the federal indictment brought over his alleged incitement of the Capitol breach on Jan. 6.
Trump wrote, “All of these Biden ‘Political Opponent’ Lawsuits against me could have been brought 3 years ago, but the slimeballs brought them right in the middle of my very successful campaign for President.”
“The J6 Fake Case, where the Obama appointed, Trump Hating Judge, Tanya S. Chutkan, actually had the audacity to schedule the trial THE DAY BEFORE SUPER TUESDAY (always considered the biggest of all Primary days),” he continued, “has been put into serious question when most of the Unselect Committee’s evidence was deleted and destroyed. This illegal act, that would have shown the GUILT of Crazy Nancy Pelosi, and others, should end this Biden Witch Hunt. Our FAILING NATION is now becoming a BANANA REPUBLIC. MAGA!”
Though the president did not specify whether he was assigning guilt to Pelosi for the destruction of records or for alleged responsibility for the events that took place on Jan. 6, the claim came after Just the News had reported that Georgia Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R) had uncovered that a key committee witness, former Trump White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson, had submitted “significant changes” to testimony made in interviews dating back to Feb. 2022.
Loudermilk had told the outlet, “All of the videotapes of all depositions are gone.”
“Again we found out about this early in the investigation when I received a call from someone who was looking for some information off one of the videotapes, and we started searching, and we had none. I wrote a letter to [Mississippi Democratic Rep.] Bennie Thompson asking for them. And he confirmed that they did not preserve those types. He didn’t feel that they had to,” the congressman explained.
“But according to House rules, you have to preserve any data and information and documents that are used in an official proceeding, which they did,” Loudermilk asserted. “They actually aired portions of these tapes on their televised hearings, which means they had to keep those. But yet he chose not to, I believe they exist somewhere. We’ve just got to find where all these videos are.”
Trump’s charge against the California lawmaker followed previous concerns about the integrity of the records from the Jan. 6 committee as well as Pelosi’s documented behavior, caught on tape as she had been accompanied by a documentary film crew the day the 2020 presidential election was being certified.
The president had said in August, “So not that I have full Subpoena Power because of the Freedom of Speech Sham Indictment by Crooked Joe Biden, Deranged Jack Smith, and the DOJ, it has just been reported that the Unselect January 6th Committee of Political Hacks and Thugs has illegally destroyed their Records and Documents. This is unthinkable, and the Fake Political Indictment against me must be immediately withdrawn. The system is Rigged & Corrupt, very much like the Presidential Election of 2020. We are a Nation in Decline!”
