Horror has gripped the nation after the Will County Sheriff’s Office in Illinois announced the brutal stabbing death of a six-year-old Palestinian Muslim child and the attempted murder of his mother — an alleged hate crime committed by the family’s landlord.
The left immediately seized upon the unconscionable act, using it as an excuse to decry “Islamophobia” in America as Israel’s war in Gaza against Palestinian terrorists, Hamas, rages on.
“Jill and I were sickened to learn of the brutal murder of a child and the attempted murder of the child’s mother yesterday in Illinois. Our condolences and prayers are with the family,” President Joe Biden — or whomever it is that writes Biden’s posts — stated Sunday on X. “This act of hate against a Palestinian Muslim family has no place in America.”
“As Americans, we must come together and reject Islamophobia and all forms of bigotry and hatred,” Biden continued. “I have said repeatedly that I will not be silent in the face of hate. We must be unequivocal.”

According to the Will County Sheriff’s Office, “On 10/14/2023 at approximately 11:38 AM, deputies with the Will County Sheriff’s Office were sent to a residence located near the 16200 block of S. Lincoln Highway in Unincorporated Plainfield Township regarding a stabbing.”
The home is located on the outskirts of Chicago.
The 911 call came from the 32-year-old mother, who claimed her landlord had attacked her with a knife. She ran to the bathroom where she fought off her attacker as she placed the call.
Upon arriving on the scene, police “located two victims inside the residence in a bedroom. Both victims had multiple stab wounds to their chest, torso, and upper extremities. Both victims were transported to a local area hospital for treatment.”
The young boy, identified on X as Wadea Al-Fayoume, had “over a dozen stab wounds to his body and was transported in critical condition,” the Sheriff’s Office stated. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Though the Sheriff’s Office initially reported that the child was eight years old, they later updated the information to confirm he was only six.
“You Muslims must die!”

The suspect, Joseph M. Czuba, was discovered “sitting upright outside on the ground near the driveway of the residence” when deputies arrived. He “had a laceration to his forehead and was later transported to a local area hospital for treatment.”
Czuba “did not make any statements to detectives regarding his involvement in this heinous attack,” the Sheriff’s Office stated.
While he declined to provide a statement to detectives, “enough information” was gathered through interviews and evidence to formally charge Czuba with “First Degree Murder, Attempted First Degree Murder, Hate Crime (2 counts), and Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon.”
“Detectives were able to determine that both victims in this brutal attack were targeted by the suspect due to them being Muslim and the on-going Middle Eastern conflict involving Hamas and the Israelis,” according to the Sheriff’s Office.
“I am absolutely horrified that a young Muslim Palestinian boy was murdered in Chicago. We must reject this kind of Islamophobia and hate and stand up for all of our communities,” stated New York Attorney General Letitia James. “We cannot allow hate to beget hate.”
“The savage murder of 6-year old Wadea Al-Fayoume is an act of sickening depravity. Cops in suburban Chicago, where he lived with his family, confirm the Palestinian-American boy was stabbed to death-his mom severely injured-because they are Muslim,” wrote Geraldo Rivera. “We must all condemn this hate.”
“There is no humane world that can and should tolerate the murder of an innocent child because of his identity,” said Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. “The tragic events in the Middle East, begun by the brutal terrorist attacks by Hamas, have brought ideologies of hate to the fore across the world – notably antisemitism and Islamophobia.”
“This must end. The diversity and inclusiveness that define America must prevail,” he stated. “Our Department condemns violence, including and especially violence born of hate, and we will continue to work every day to prevent it.”

While absolutely no one with a soul would disagree with any of the above statements, one must wonder why there wasn’t similar outrage for the other 65 children in Chicago — all under the age of 18 — who were senselessly killed in 2023 alone.
The Chicago Sun-Times keeps a running tally of those in Chicago who have been “killed by another person in the city.”
They include eight-year-old Serabi Medina who was shot and killed on August 5. Three-year-old Laroyce Bolden died from a bullet on April 29. And, on February 19, A-Mara Hall — just one year old — lost her young life after she was shot in Morgan Park.
Apparently, the deaths of little Hispanic and black children just aren’t as politically significant…
